Prosper's Fall Calendar Moves Around Town This Year

Prosper's three big public events between now and December are at three different addresses. The Hometown Harvest Fair is at Frontier Park on October 17. Friendsgiving takes over the Downtown Prosper Plaza on Broadway Street on November 21. The Christmas Festival comes to Prosper Town Hall on December 5. The Town runs the first and last, an outside event producer runs the middle one, and each venue suits the way its event is put on. If you know the pattern, the season is easier to plan.

Raymond Community Park sits alongside all of this. It's a park the size of Frontier Park on the east side of town, and parts of it have been open since spring.

Three dates, three venues, two kinds of host

Date Event Venue Hours Who runs it
Saturday, Oct. 17 Celebrate Prosper, Hometown Harvest Fair Frontier Park, 1551 Frontier Pkwy. 4 to 8 p.m. Town of Prosper
Saturday, Nov. 21 Prosper on the Plaza: Friendsgiving! Downtown Prosper Plaza, Broadway St. Noon to 4 p.m. SBG Hospitality with the Town
Saturday, Dec. 5 Prosper Christmas Festival Prosper Town Hall 3 to 7 p.m. Town of Prosper, free event

The hours shift with each venue. The harvest fair runs into the evening. Friendsgiving is a midday event. The Christmas Festival starts in the afternoon. Every date is a Saturday, so the calendar never asks you to choose between two of them. You do have to remember where each one is.

October 17 starts at the town's biggest built park

The season opens with the Town's Celebrate Prosper, Hometown Harvest Fair, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Frontier Park. The Town's listing promises nostalgic music, games, competitions, picnic fare and treats.

Frontier Park explains the choice of venue. In the Town's July 2026 park inventory, it covers 79.7 acres with 1.7 miles of trail. It has lit athletic fields, rental spaces, 32 soccer practice fields and four batting cages. Most Prosper neighborhood parks in that inventory are under 25 acres. Frontier is the developed park with enough room for a Town-run fair that includes competitions and space to spread out a picnic. A games-and-competitions format needs that kind of room.

If you live near Frontier Parkway, this is a walk or a short drive. If you live farther east, keep in mind that the fair runs four hours. You can arrive after 5 and still catch most of it.

The Broadway plaza runs on a producer's calendar

The middle of the season moves downtown, and a different organizer takes over. The Town lists the Downtown Prosper Plaza events under one series name, "Prosper on the Plaza." Its calendar pages say the events are organized and produced by SBG Hospitality in partnership with the Town of Prosper. SBG Hospitality calls itself a Texas-based event company that plans, organizes, promotes and produces community events. The Town's pages spell the name two ways. They show "SBG" in some places and "SPG" in others, along with an SPG email address. Either way, it's the same producer.

The series started its fall run yesterday. The Town calendar listed Prosper on the Plaza: Red River Rivalry Fan Fest for Saturday, October 10, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Broadway Street. Next on the plaza is Friendsgiving on Saturday, November 21, from noon to 4 p.m. The listing includes:

  • Live bluegrass
  • A giant corn maze
  • A petting zoo
  • Face painting
  • Lawn games
  • Food trucks

Friendsgiving is free, but the listing asks guests to reserve a seat in advance through the link on the Town's calendar page. None of the other big fall events asks for that. It's an easy step to miss if you're used to showing up at Town events.

The plaza events run differently from the Frontier Park fair. A dedicated producer brings in the pieces, so the corn maze, petting zoo and food trucks are set up on Broadway Street for the afternoon. A football fan fest and a Thanksgiving-themed gathering a few weeks apart show how a producer can change the theme to fit the calendar while the venue stays the same.

December 5 comes back to the civic campus

The holiday event goes back to the Town. The Prosper Christmas Festival 2026 is listed as a free event on Saturday, December 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Prosper Town Hall.

The Christmas Festival is the only one of the three held at a government building and not a park or a commercial plaza. Town Hall gives it a civic setting that the harvest fair and the plaza series don't have. The listing gives two different street addresses for Town Hall, so check the Town's own page for parking and entrance details closer to the date. The time window is set. It starts mid-afternoon and runs into the evening.

The park that sits behind the whole season

Raymond Community Park is at Coit Road and First Street. The Town's July 2026 inventory lists it at 69.5 acres with a 400-space parking lot. That makes it close to Frontier Park's 79.7 acres. It's also about three times the size of Lakewood Park, which the same inventory lists at 22.8 acres at 651 S. Coit Road. The east side of Prosper now has a community park built on the same scale as the town's west-side anchor.

Star Local Media reported a ribbon-cutting scheduled for Tuesday, February 24. It described a plan with eight pickleball courts, four lighted tennis courts, and four lighted baseball and softball fields with a restroom and concession building. The plan also includes multiuse practice fields, inclusive playground areas for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, pavilions, an amphitheater, a garden and trails.

Here is what has been confirmed as open. By the Town's Parks and Recreation Board meeting on April 9, 2026, the playground was open and in use, and the eight-court pickleball complex had already hosted a tournament. The board's May 13 update described a park in use with site work still left to finish. The Town's July 2026 inventory still listed Raymond as "in progress," with the pickleball courts and playground open to the public. For now, plan around the courts and the playground. The ball fields, amphitheater and other parts of the plan are best treated as coming later.

The amphitheater stands out on that list. Today, Prosper's fall events are split among a sports park, a downtown plaza and Town Hall. Once Raymond's event space is built, the east side will have a place designed for gatherings. The Town hasn't announced any events there, and this fall's calendar doesn't use it.

Downtown is also adding a park that will sit next to the plaza events. Parvin Park, at 401 E. Broadway St., already has a pond and green space. Community Impact reported in January that it would add a small playground and picnic tables, with completion expected in summer 2026. The Town's July inventory still listed it as under construction. It's worth a look on your way to Friendsgiving to see how far it has come.

Farther out, the inventory lists Doe Branch Community Park, west of Gee Road, at 162.6 acres. It's undeveloped and was in master planning as of March 2025. It would be the largest site on the list. For this season, Frontier on the west side, Raymond on the east side, and the Broadway plaza in the middle are the three spaces that matter most.

A Saturday plan for each month

October. Go to the harvest fair at Frontier Park on the 17th. The four-hour window leaves time to stop by the Raymond pickleball courts or the playground earlier in the day if you live on the east side.

November. Reserve your Friendsgiving seat through the Town's calendar link before the 21st. Then plan a midday visit to Broadway Street, and walk past Parvin Park on East Broadway while you're downtown.

December. The Christmas Festival at Prosper Town Hall runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on the 5th. It's free, and it's the last of the season's three big gatherings.
